GMTT (Good Match Target Time)
The GMTT is a calculated a target match score that represents a “good” match time for you in that Division on that day.
You are then competing against yourself in each match in each Division, and we compare all results at the end. This way, everyone has an equal chance to win.
Your goal is to perform at your GMTT level or better because the faster your time the higher your percentage for this match, and your percentage is the score we’ll compare to everyone else in the match.
- Great Match >= 105%
- Good Match = 95% – 105%
- Just OK = 85% – 95%
- Bad Day = 75% – 85%
- I’m selling this stupid thing <= 75%
Calculation
- For each competitor and each of their Divisions, take 95% of the average of the six best times on each of the stages in today’s match.
- Determine the percent for each stage, and average those to arrive at the “Average % of Stages”.
- Averaging by stage rather than overall match time helps reduce the impact of any “meltdown stages”.
- Order descending by this percent, and these are the ranked results of this match.
- Use a sliding scale if there are not yet 12 records:
- >= 10 use best 5
- >= 8 use best 4
- >= 6 use best 3
- >= 4 use best 2
- Otherwise use best 1
- Note the order placement of these results compared to the “Combined Place” on Practiscore – represented as “Place_SCSA” in FSC results.
- Use only scores from USPSA / SCSA members in good standing, and only scores from Level 1 or higher sanctioned matches.
- This number represents a relatively good performance for that person in that Division on that day.
- Note that this system is greatly simplified by the fact that all eight Steel Challenge stages are standardized around the world and have been for a long time.
